CONSERVATIVES LAUNCH 'LABOUR DEBT CRISIS' AD CAMPAIGN ON CLEAR CHANNEL OUTDOOR'S NEW HD POSTER NETWORK

The Conservative Party has launched a nationwide advertising campaign featuring the creative: “Dad’s Nose. Mum’s Eyes. Gordon Brown’s Debt”. The campaign, created by Euro RSCG and booked through outdoor specialist Posterscope, is the first to feature on Clear Channel Outdoor HD – the next generation of high definition poster printing – dryposted on 250 96-sheet locations across the UK.

Conservative Party Chairman, Caroline Spelman, said: “This campaign shows that the longer Labour are in power the worse the economic situation will become and it will be of real concern to people that our next generation is being born saddled with £17,000 worth of debt. By combining a strong outdoor presence with online activity we hope the campaign will have a real impact.

“We are delighted to be working with Clear Channel Outdoor in the launch of our new campaign and as the first advertiser on the High Definition 96-sheet network. They have presented us with an excellent opportunity to run a high quality campaign which will ensure our message is communicated throughout Britain loud and clear.”

As the largest 96-sheet billboard player in the marketplace, Clear Channel has been able to hand-pick the very best 250 solus location from our estate of 1,200 panels. This has resulted in the Clear Channel HD product offering the highest quality location, illumination and VAC in the market place.

The three main advantages of this new product are the quality of the display, the posting quality and speed of posting. The display quality has the same resolution as backlit vinyl with clear colours and excellent image clarity, while the unique dryposting system, using Velcro strips, guarantees a completely flat presentation across the entire surface of the panel.

One of the major benefits, however, concerns the speed of posting achieved by Clear Channel Outdoor HD. The HD pack of 250 sites can be posted within 24 hours, enabling clients to achieve greater flexibility within traditional outdoor and get campaign messages to the streets through quick and even coverage.

HD also complements Clear Channel’s award-winning corporate responsibility commitment in operation across all parts of the business. Named one of The Sunday Times Top Green Companies in 2008, Clear Channel is continuously seeking to improve its environmental performance. The non-glue process of HD enables campaigns to be re-posted three times over 12 months and the posters are made from 70% recycled material which can be safely incinerated after use.

According to Clear Channel Outdoor UK Operations Director, Mark Webb: “We have used dryposting techniques across the majority of our 500 trivision billboards for the last five years, however, in seeking to move the rest of our billboard plant to the next generation of HD we underwent a period of rigorous testing to develop the right product with the latest technology.

“Clear Channel Outdoor HD will provide clients with the best possible poster quality yet won’t sacrifice on our commitment to developing sustainable products at affordable prices.”
